An intro level look at health care policy, with 45 minute seminars on private health and medicaid, medicare, public health, and staffer 101.
Please join us for lunch at our upcoming Congressional Health Policy Education Program event in RHOB 2168. Lunch will be provided. Please feel free to share this invite with any health care staffer you think would be interested. This event is for full-time staff only.
During the event, Congressional health staff will have the opportunity to attend four seminars and conversations introducing them to health care policy as it relates to private health care and Medicaid, Medicare, public health and well-being, and how to be an effective health care policy staffer.
Panels include:
12:30 – 1:35 – Private Health & Medicaid: Paragon Health Institute President Brian Blase and guests will discuss how private health care and Medicaid operate and interrelate.
1:35 – 2:20 – Public Health and Well-Being: Paragon Initiative Director Joel Zinberg will be joined by surgeon and public policy researcher Dr. Marty Makary to discuss public health agencies, issues, and how health care is more than just government programs.
2:25 – 3:10 – Medicare: Paragon Initiative Director Demetrios Kouzoukas will be joined by House Energy and Commerce Committee Professional Staff Member Alec Aramanda to discuss the basics of Medicare and how administrative policy connects with Capitol Hill.
3:15 – 4:00 – How to be an effective health care staffer: Paragon Health Institute Senior Policy Analyst Drew Keyes will be joined by Senate Minority Leader Senior Advisor Stephanie Parks, House Energy and Commerce Committee Counsel Molly Lolli, and Todd Strategy Group Principal Paul Edattel to discuss the keys to being an effective health care policy staffer.
Following the event, Paragon Health Institute will host a happy hour. More details on the happy hour will be included soon.
