On September 28, 2023, Paragon President Brian Blase was quoted in The Washington Post‘s story “What the GOP candidates said on health policy last night.”

From the article:

“There’s so many issues where Republicans feel like the Democrats are vulnerable on, and it’s not health care,” said Brian Blase, who served on the National Economic Council under Trump and helped start the Paragon Health Institute, a think tank, with former Trump officials and others. “They’re going to focus on the issues where they feel most confident.”

Paragon Health Institute is planning to put out its ideas today, which Blase shared with The Health 202, stressing he believes it should be a road map for both Republicans and Democrats. It includes tackling Medicare insolvency by cracking down on overpayments and increasing transparency so patients know what they’ll pay ahead of time, in addition to deploying some ideas more often backed by conservatives, such as “break[ing] the cycle” of expanding Obamacare’s financial aid and “defending freedom instead of declaring mandates.”
