Dean F. Clancy is a senior health policy fellow at Americans for Prosperity and a nationally-known health care freedom advocate with more than 20 years’ high-level policy experience in Congress, the White House, and the U.S. health care industry. From 2004 to 2006, Clancy served as the top White House budget official on health care and entitlements, with a portfolio encompassing half the federal budget in dollar terms.

A frequent guest on TV and radio news shows including BBC News, CBS Evening News, CNBC Closing Bell, and C-SPAN, Clancy’s writings have appeared in numerous publications, including The Hill, Daily Caller, the Washington Times, RealClearHealth, and U.S. News and World Report. His main areas of expertise are U.S. health care, tax, budget, and entitlement policy. Clancy is a strong advocate for patient-driven health reforms that give every American lower cost and higher quality through markets, not mandates. An expert on tax-free health savings accounts, he is a long-time advocate for “HSAs for all.”

Clancy has a B.A. in international relations from Georgetown University and a master’s in journalism from Columbia University.
