Ge Bai, PhD, CPA, is a Professor of Accounting at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and Professor of Health Policy & Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. In 2022, she became a Visiting Scholar at the Congressional Budget Office.

An expert on health care pricing, policy, and management, Dr. Bai has testified before the House Ways and Means Committee and published her studies in leading academic journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, JAMA Internal Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Health Affairs. She has written for The Wall Street Journal and her work has been widely featured in ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, Los Angeles Times, NBC, The New York Times, NPR, The Washington Post, and other media outlets and cited in government regulations and congressional testimonies.

Dr. Bai received her doctoral degree in accounting from Michigan State University, her master’s degree in accounting from Eastern Michigan University, and her B.A. in Japanese literature and B.Eng. in mechanical engineering from Dalian University of Technology in China. She has received the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association’s Excellence in Teaching Award.
